Obtaining Documents from Uzbekistan (Archives & Certificates)
Through the Embassy you can request copies/extracts (e.g., birth/marriage certificates, court/education records).
• Submit the electronic request via the consular portal and provide passport copies and the applicable fee.
• Originals of some items (e.g., labour/pension books, military IDs) cannot be obtained via consulates.
• Mailing of documents follows established postal rules (prepaid return label/envelope if requested).
Personal Identification Number (PINFL) & Digital Signature (E‑Imzo)
PINFL (Personal Identification Number of an Individual) is required for many Uzbek e‑services. You can apply at the Embassy with your passport/ID and photo; a small fee may apply.
Digital signature certificate (E‑Imzo) allows you to use my.gov.uz and other Uzbek e‑services from abroad. Apply in person with your passport, PINFL and a USB token; a fee applies.
Citizenship Matters
• Renunciation / loss / confirmation of Uzbek citizenship and certificates of non‑Uzbek citizenship are processed through the Embassy following the official procedures.
• Processing times for some applications are several months and outcomes are determined by the competent authorities in Uzbekistan.
Translations & Legalisation (Apostille / Consular)
• Uzbekistan is party to the Hague Apostille Convention. Documents for use between Uzbekistan and a Convention country are usually accepted with an Apostille from the competent authority of the issuing country.
• If a country is not party to the Convention, documents need consular legalisation (chain of authentication) before use in Uzbekistan.
• Within Uzbekistan, Apostilles are issued by designated authorities (e.g., Ministry of Justice; Ministry of Foreign Affairs for certain documents).
• The Embassy can advise whether Apostille or legalisation is required for a specific document issued in Qatar.
Fees & Timelines
• Fees: set by the official consular tariff; amounts and payment methods are posted/confirmed by the Embassy.
• Timelines: many services are completed on the spot (notarials), while passports are produced in Uzbekistan and then dispatched to Doha; allow ~1.5–2 months in typical cases. Certificates for return are handled expeditiously for urgent travel, subject to document checks.
