Civil Status (Birth, Marriage, Divorce, Name Change, Death) & Certificates
Registering and using civil-status documents
• Life events that occur abroad (birth, marriage, etc.) should be reported so Uzbekistan’s civil registry can be updated.
• To use documents across borders, they may need Apostille (if both countries are in the Hague Apostille Convention) or consular legalisation (if not).
• Bring the original foreign certificate and official translation into Uzbek/Russian if requested, plus copies.
Birth related
• For a child born in Qatar to Uzbek parents, report the birth, then apply for a passport (or, when applicable, a return certificate first).
• Additional rules may apply in cases of dual nationality.
Marriage / divorce / name change
• Report your new civil status so your Uzbek records and passport data remain consistent.
• Documents issued abroad often require Apostille/legalisation and a notarised translation.
Death
• Report the death of an Uzbek citizen abroad to update records and facilitate any repatriation or inheritance procedures.
